Windows 10: Combine Taskbar when full

Combine taskbar buttons only when full

Today’s quick Windows 10 tip involves the taskbar, and its default stacking behaviour in Windows 10.

To quickly and easily switch between open windows I like to avoid the stacking of taskbar buttons whenever possible. Here’s how to enable this behaviour:

  1. Right-click a blank area on the taskbar and select Settings.
  2. Scroll down to locate the option Combine taskbar buttons and change it to When taskbar is full.

Now I just need a larger monitor so the taskbar doesn’t fill up!
