Windows 10: Enable Delete prompt

Display confirmation prompt on delete

By default in Windows 10 there is no confirmation prompt if a file is deleted. With fat fingers like mine, enabling the Windows file delete prompt is a must. There’s just something about being able to delete a file without a confirmation prompt that scares me. Even though it’s rare I actually need this failsafe, it’s presence is reassuring. Anyway, this is how to quickly turn on that annoying prompt:

  1. On the Desktop right-click the Recycle Bin and select Properties

    Recycle Bin Properties

  2. Check Display delete confirmation dialog and click OK
