Windows 10: How to turn on Bluetooth

How to turn on bluetooth in Windows 10

  1. Click the Start button and select the Settings icon to open Settings

  2. Click the Devices icon

  3. Bluetooth and other devices should automatically be selected, otherwise you can select it from the left menu pane.

  4. Alternatively, from the Settings screen you could type bluetooth in the search field and hit Enter.

  5. If Bluetooth is disabled, it will show as Off beside the toggle. Click the toggle to active bluetooth.

    The toggle with become blue to indicate Bluetooth is now enabled, and say On beside it. Below it you should see a message like Now discoverable as "device-name" (where device-name is the name of your device).

  6. To turn off Bluetooth, simply click the toggle again.

  7. If you scroll down towards the bottom of the Settings screen you should find a tip on an alternative approach:

    “To turn on Bluetooth without opening Settings, open action center, and then select the Bluetooth icon…”
